"Throughout her career, Carrie-Anne has embodied a wide range of characters in a compelling and relatable way and I have no doubt she will bring that talent to A.K.A. Jessica Jones," added executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.

Moss' character is described as "a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica... if Jessica doesn't completely alienate her first."

Starring Krysten Ritter, David Tennant, Mike Colter and Rachael Taylor, the 13-episode series is to premiere on the streaming service this year.

Moss' film credits include the Matrix trilogy, Memento, Chocolat and Disturbia.
