LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Gary Sinise is to appear as a veteran FBI agent in an upcoming episode of CBS' Criminal Minds, which could serve as a pilot for a new spinoff series.
Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer will write the episode, TV Guide reported.

Sinise has not had a regular television gig since CSI: NY ended its nine-season run in 2013.
