The Happyish series order was announced Monday by the cable network's president David Nevins.

"Shalom has a unique comedic voice. He is smart, provocative and thoughtful. I know he's going to make viewers laugh, but he's also going to push a few buttons while doing it," Nevins said in a statement.

Happyish is scheduled to premiere April 26, immediately after a Season 7 episode of Nurse Jackie. It will be followed by the Season 2 premiere of Penny Dreadful.
