PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Matthew Perry is still in awe at the success of Friends.

The 45-year-old actor reflected on the NBC sitcom with E! News at the 2015 Television Critics Association press tour. Perry portrayed Chandler Bing on the series for 10 seasons, and admitted he never thought the program would become so popular.

"I never really thought about the future and I had no idea I would ever be involved in something as big as Friends, and I will never be involved in anything as big as Friends ever again because TV is so different now," he shared.

Perry went on to play Matt Albie on Aaron Sorkin comedy Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Ryan King on NBC sitcom Go On. He will next appear with Reno 911! star Thomas Lennon on a remake of CBS series The Odd Couple.

"What's cool about this show is it's just trying to be funny," the actor told reporters at the press tour. "We're just trying to make people laugh. It's based on chemistry and we're really lucky that Tom and I have great chemistry."

Perry will develop, executive produce and star as Oscar Madison, with Lennon as Felix Unger. The Odd Couple originally ran from 1970 to 1975, and is based itself on the Neil Simon play of the same name. The remake will premiere February 19 on CBS.
