NEW YORK, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- NBC news anchor Brian Williams has no problem with the racy scenes performed by his daughter Allison Williams on the HBO series Girls. The 55-year-old journalist talked about his daughter's occupational hazards -- naked sex scenes -- during a recent interview with Vulture.

"She's always been an actress," said Brian Williams, who sat by his daughter's side during the fourth-season premiere of Girls. "For us, watching her is the family occupation, and everybody has to remember it's acting, no animals were harmed during the filming, and ideally nobody gets hurt."
Allison Williams' character, Marnie, kicked off the current season of the show with a peculiar backside sex scene with her love interest, Desi (Ebon Moss-Bacharach). When asked if she sometimes asks her dad to "sit this one out," she said that because of her "wiring," she's more likely to ask him or her mother for advice.
"They, too, are veterans of the show, so their thinking has changed, as well," said Allison, who told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year that she "loves making people uncomfortable" with cringeworthy scenes.
The 26-year-old actress also credited "her wiring" with helping her have a positive attitude toward the usually uncomfortable sex scenes on the show.
"I read it in the script, and I went into total action mode," she said. "I got everyone together, and I was like, 'All right, Grace [in wardrobe], you and me — we're going to come up with something so ingenious that he is going to feel comfortable.'"
Allison decided she wanted "to smell like a cake," and she and the makeup team then "put vanilla cream everywhere so everything smells good." The team also confectioned a device that is "invisible from the side but that feels like a pillow when he puts his face into it."
"You wouldn't know; it's total TV magic," she said.
The fourth season of Girls premiered on HBO on Sunday.
