LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress Kristen Alderson is wrapping up her run as Kiki Jerome on General Hospital.

Soap Opera Digest reported her impending departure, but gave no reason for it.

Neither ABC nor Alderson have commented on the development.

The 23-year-old actress began playing the role of Kiki Jerome on the soap opera in 2013.

She previously portrayed the part of Starr Manning on One Life to Live from the time she was 6 in 1998 until the daytime drama ended in January 2012. She reprised her role of Starr on GH weeks later, but a legal dispute regarding the rights to the character meant she had to temporarily leave the show in early 2013 until the new character of Kiki could be created for her. She returned shortly after and has been playing Kiki since.

"Kiki is the daughter and product of an affair with the sinister Ava Jerome and Dr. Silas Clay. She is currently involved with Michael Corinthos, but was formerly married to his brother, Morgan," said an ABC character biography.
