Ted Danson, Jean Smart to star in Season 2 of 'Fargo'

The show is to go back into production this month in Calgary. The new season is set to premiere on the cable network in the fall.

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Ted Danson, Jean Smart and Patrick Wilson are to star in the 10-episode sophomore season of Fargo.

Variety confirmed the casting for the FX crime drama Thursday.

Co-starring Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons, the second season will be set in 1979 in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Luverne, Minn.

Nick Offerman, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine, Jeffrey Donovan and Angus Sampson will guest star on the drama, which will focus on a case involving a local crime gang and a major mob syndicate.

Season 1 of the anthology show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. It was set in 2006 Bemidji, Minn.

Wilson's character in Season 2 is a younger version of Keith Carradine's Lou Solverson from Season 1.
