Benedict Cumberbatch working on mystery project for BBC One

The British television network teased the actor's fans with a mysterious tweet and photo that doesn't appear to be from any of Cumberbatch's announced films or TV programs.

LONDON, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is working on "something special" for BBC One, but the television network is keeping details about the project under wraps.

Cumberbatch is wildly popular thanks to his roles on the contemporary detective series Sherlock, and in the movies The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, August: Osage County, The Fifth Estate, 12 Years a Slave and Star Trek Into Darkness. He will soon be seen in the upcoming film The Imitation Game and the TV miniseries The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses.

BBC One teased the actor's fans Wednesday with a mysterious tweet and photo that doesn't appear to be from any of Cumberbatch's known projects.
