Riley Keough to star in Starz's TV adaptation of 'Girlfriend Experience'

Steven Soderbergh's 2009 flick "The Girlfriend Experience" follows a Manhattan call girl's relationship with her boyfriend, her clients and her work.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Riley Keough is set to star in Starz's television adaptation of Steven Soderbergh's film The Girlfriend Experience.

The 25-year-old actress will play the main character in the 13 episode series, Indiewire reports. The show will be written and directed by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz with Soderbergh and Philip Fleishman as producers.

While plot details about the series are being kept under wraps, the show will be closely based on the 2009 flick The Girlfriend Experience, which follows a Manhattan call girl's relationship with her boyfriend, her clients and her work.

Keough is best known for her roles in Magic Mike -- which was also directed by Soderbergh -- Jack & Diane and The Runaways.
