LOS ANGELES, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Reality TV personality Kris Jenner talks about her late ex-husband Robert Kardashian and her murdered best friend Nicole Brown Simpson in a one-hour special to premiere Oct. 5, E! announced.
The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner empire also opens up in Beyond Candid with Giuliana: Kris Jenner about her famous family and how she handles criticism of her kids and parenting skills.
Jenner's first ex-husband Robert Kardashian -- the father of her daughters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney and son Rob -- successfully helped defend Brown Simpson's former football great husband O.J. against charges he stabbed Simpson and Ronald Goldman to death in 1994. Although he was acquitted of all criminal charges, Simpson was found liable of the deaths of his ex-wife and her friend in a subsequent civil lawsuit. Simpson is now behind bars, serving a prison sentence for an unrelated 2007 armed robbery. Kardashian died of cancer in 2003 at the age of 59.
Jenner told E! interviewer Giuliana Rancic the Simpsons, who had a history of domestic violence during their seven-year marriage, "had gotten through so much together, but it was like, they couldn't live with each other and they couldn't live without each other, so it was that very volatile relationship at times."
Jenner, who divorced Kardashian and married Bruce Jenner in 1991, confessed in the interview that "probably the worst thing" she has ever been through was watching her children deal with their father's illness and death more than a decade ago.
"It was a horrible, horrible experience," Kris Jenner said. "And I think that we all, you know, I'm sorry. It still stings so bad, like it's so fresh."
Jenner also addressed online haters who bash her mothering style and allege she exploits her children for fame and fortune.
"It's so funny. It's like, give people a computer keyboard and they can say anything they want. And as hurtful as it might be, nobody knows what's going on," she said. "I've realized at some point you can't control what ignorant, nasty people are going to say about a family really they know nothing about personally. And 99.9 percent of the stuff that's printed is absolute lies."
Jenner and her second husband Bruce, who is the father of her daughters Kylie and Kendall, are in the process of divorcing after announcing their separation last year.
