WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Betty White has ranked No. 1 on the InterMedia Entertainment Star Index for the second quarter of 2014.

"Betty White's staying power is a marvel of the entertainment business; she has proven herself to be a highly-effective celebrity spokesperson -- one whose sense of humor and disarming charm seem to only strengthen her trustworthiness and influence with people of both genders and all ages," Rob Levy, president of InterMedia Entertainment, said in a statement Wednesday.

The company said it conducts this primary consumer research on a quarterly basis to ensure the index "is reflective of current media trends and consumer attitudes."
