Rob Lowe stars in new Shark Week promo for the Discovery Channel

LOS ANGELES, July 29 (UPI) -- If you like Rob Lowe and sharks you're going to like the actor's latest promo for the Discovery Channel's upcoming Shark Week. At least that is what the 50-year-old star tweeted Monday to his 880,000 followers along with a clip of the commercial.

The 35-second spot finds the Parks and Recreation actor floating over two sharks in red shorts and a white tank top. A blonde mermaid can be seen holding onto Lowe's leg as he throws fish from a bucket prompting several animated sharks to jump in the air. Lowe is dubbed the "King of Summer since '87," in the ad.

"I will not rest or even eat (with the exception of fruit pies) until 'So sharky' is the new 'swaggy,'" Lowe tweeted later.

Shark Week 2014 begins Sunday, Aug. 10 on the Discovery Channel.
