Neil Patrick Harris wants to be on 'American Horror Story'

Neil Patrick Harris said he wants a role on "American Horror Story: Freak Show," and writer Ryan Murphy agrees.

LOS ANGELES, July 19 (UPI) -- Actor Neil Patrick Harris revealed he'd love to have a role in the upcoming season of FX's American Horror Story.

The Hedwig and the Angry Inch actor said he'd love to have a role in this season's them, Freak Show, during an interview on Entertainment Weekly Radio.

"I wrote a letter to Ryan (Murphy), asking if I could be in it. And he didn't respond," Harris said.

Murphy, who writes and produces the series, responded to the request on Twitter on Friday, but later deleted the post.

"@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love."

Does that mean there's not actually a role for Harris, @MrRPMurphy?
