'Girl Meets World' debuts to big numbers

Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World" debuts to 5.2 million total viewers Friday night.

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- Looks like Cory and Topanga still have it.

Disney's Girl Meets World, the spinoff to the popular 90s hit Boy Meets World, debuted Friday with 5.2 million total viewers.

That number made the series, starring Rowan Blanchard as Riley, the tween daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), the No. 1 2014 launch for kids 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14.

The series was also the most-downloaded Disney Channel series preview on iTunes.
