NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- Fans of long-locked Kit Harington, rejoice -- the actor is not allowed to cut his hair.

The 27-year-old Game of Thrones star recently appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael, and revealed that his long, curly hair is under contract. The series reportedly keeps a close eye on his tresses, and he is not allowed to cut his hair without permission.

"It has its own contract, definitely," the actor admits. "I never thought I'd say that about my own hair."

"I'm not allowed to cut it," he reveals. "I didn't realize this until recently. I wanted to cut it -- I've had long hair for ages -- and they were like 'No, no, no. That won't be happening.'"

When host Kelly Ripa suggests he cut his hair and wear extensions for the show, Harington says it isn't allowed.

"They don't like doing that," he relays. "There's all of these ridiculous conversations that go back and forth between agents and managers and HBO: 'Can we have four inches off or can we have an inch off? What can we do with this? How curly should it be?' It gets silly."
