Josh Kaufman wins season 6 of 'The Voice'

LOS ANGELES, May 21 (UPI) -- Josh Kaufman has won season six of The Voice.

The final three contestants -- Kaufman (Team Usher), Christina Grimmie (Team Adam Levine), and Jake Worthington (Team Blake Shelton) -- delivered their last competitive performances on Monday's program, and Kaufman was revealed as the champion Tuesday night. Worthington was the runner up, and Grimmie came in third.

Kaufman receives $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group. He will also go on tour with Worthington, Grimmie and fan favorite contestant Kristen Merlin this summer. The victory is Team Usher's first win.

"This show is about dreams, about the journey of being an artist, and [Kaufman] represents all of that," coach Usher lauded. "From the time of the blind auditions to being stolen [from Team Adam], he's been on an amazing journey."

"I can't even talk," a happy Kaufman said after the reveal. "I'm overwhelmed. I'm surprised. I'm happy. I'm relieved. This has been so much more of an experience than I ever could have imagined."
