"It may be something too powerful for the audience to even handle, so it may just be an one-time event."

NEW YORK, May 16 (UPI) -- Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith are going to have a drum-off on the The Tonight Show to prove who is the "real" Chad Smith.

Tired of being mistaken for each other, the two have decided to test their drum skills to prove that Chad Smith is, indeed, Chad Smith. Though it doesn't seem like it's going to be much of a competition.

"We're going to have a drum-off to see who the real Chad Smith is," Smith told Rolling Stone. "I'm all for it. But unless Will's been practicing or is secretly a crazy, wild drummer, I think it'll be evident right off the bat who the real Chad Smith is. I'm ready to take him down."

"I have not been practicing," said Ferrell. "There's no amount of practice that would help me become a good drummer."

The two will be playing for a giant golden cowbell and are using the battle to raise money for Cancer for College and Little Kids Rock. They have raised $300,000 for Cancer for College already, a condition Ferrell set for the battle to take place.

Ferrell and Smith have been mistaken for each other for years but the rivalry came to a head during their Reddit AMAs in February, leading to a competition in Instagram videos.

The battle will take place on May 22.
