Neeson says ski resort didn't reach out to him after wife's death

NEW YORK, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Actor Liam Neeson says he didn't receive a condolence note from the Canadian ski resort where his wife, actress Natasha Richardson, had her fatal accident.

Neeson, 61, said on Thursday's "Watch What Happens Live" that the statement he made about the ski resort had been edited out of a recent "60 Minutes" interview, in which he opened up about his beloved spouse's 2009 death.

"It was time to talk about it," Neeson said on "Watch What Happens Live."

"And there were some other things I said that got edited out, that I wish had been kept in," he said.

"The ski resort where Natasha met her death ... We got hundreds, maybe a couple thousand, sympathy cards, emails, and stuff from all over the world, especially America -- not one from that ski resort. I kid you not. Not one."

Richardson, Neeson's wife of 15 years, died after falling on the bunny slope at the Montreal resort where she was staying with their two sons while Neeson shot the movie "Chloe" nearby. Richardson initially thought she was fine and refused medical attention, but fell ill and was declared brain dead a short time later.

Neeson brought her home to New York, so her family and friends could say their goodbyes, then he took her off life support in accordance with her wishes. She was 45.

Neeson can now be seen in the film "Non-Stop."
