'Gravity' wins top Cinema Audio Society award

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The sound-mixing team for "Gravity" won the feature film category at the Cinema Audio Society Awards in Los Angeles for outstanding achievement in sound mixing.

The sound team for "Gravity" beat out fellow nominees "Captain Phillips," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Iron Man 3" and "Lone Survivor," on Saturday, the Hollywood Reporter said.

The Sandra Bullock film also won a sound achievement award last week at the BAFTAs. The film is nominated for a sound mixing Academy Award against "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," "Captain Phillips," "Llewyn Davis" and "Lone Survivor."

"Frozen" won the sound mixing award for an animated feature and in television, "Behind the Candelabra," "Game of Thrones" and "Modern Family" took home awards.
