Simon Cowell's girlfriend goes into labor in NYC

NEW YORK, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- British TV personality Simon Cowell is en route to New York to be with his pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, who went into labor Friday, TMZ said.

Cowell was in London taping one of his reality competition series when he received the news. He is now flying by private jet to the United States.

Silverman was in the early stages of labor when she was admitted to Lenox Hill hospital in Manhattan Friday morning. Cowell is expected to arrive in time for the birth of his first child, a son, TMZ said.
