Scott Bakula to star in possible 'NCIS' spinoff

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Scott Bakula is to play the lead in a possible "NCIS" spinoff set in New Orleans, Variety reported Monday.

The former "Quantum Leap" and "Men of a Certain Age" star will play the special agent in charge of NCIS cases for the Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana region.

His character will be introduced in a two-part episode of "NCIS" this spring and will serve as a pilot for a possible series of his own, the entertainment industry newspaper said.
