LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- NBC has canceled "Sean Saves the World," a freshman sitcom starring Sean Hayes as the gay single father of a teen daughter, the Hollywood Reporter said.

No new episodes are to be taped and it is unclear whether the final two installments which have already been shot will air, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

Low ratings were to blame for the cancellation of the show, which also featured Megan Hilty, Echo Kellum, Thomas Lennon and Linda Lavin.
