Peter Facinelli to play Whitey Bulger's enforcer on TV series

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Fox is developing "Street Soldier," an event series starring Peter Facinelli as one of Boston mobster Whitey Bulger's henchmen, Deadline.com reported.

Facinelli will also executive produce the small-screen adaptation of the book "Street Soldier: My Life as an Enforcer For Whitey Bulger and the Boston Irish Mob."

The "Twilight" franchise cast member and "Nurse Jackie" co-star will play boxer and drug dealer Eddie MacKenzie, who was one of Bulger's soldiers until he found a way to extricate himself from the gang without getting killed, Deadline.com said.

Bulger, 84, was convicted in August of 31 crimes, including involvement in 11 murders. He was arrested in June 2011 after 16 years of hiding.
