Michael Jackson tops Forbes' highest earning dead celebrities list

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- U.S. pop star Michael Jackson tops Forbes magazine's list of the highest earning dead celebrities, having earned more than $160 million in the past year.

Coming in at No. 2 on the 2013 roster is rock 'n' roll icon Elvis Presley with $55 million, followed by Peanuts comic-strip creator Charles Schulz at No. 3 with $37 million, actress Elizabeth Taylor at No. 4 with $25 million and reggae singer Bob Marley at No. 5 with $18 million.

Rounding out the top tier are actress Marilyn Monroe with $15 million, former Beatles member John Lennon with $12 million, scientist Albert Einstein with $10 million, actress Bettie Page with $10 million and children's book author Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel with $9 million.
