Pauly D. has an infant daughter

NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Former "Jersey Shore" star Paul "Pauly D." DelVecchio confirmed Tuesday he is the father of an infant daughter.

"I'm proud I'm a father. I am excited to embark on this new part of my life," the disc jockey told TMZ.

The baby's mother had a fling with DelVecchio in Las Vegas last year, gave birth a few months ago and is now raising the girl in her native New Jersey, the celebrity news website said.

The child's and mother's names were not reported.
