Christopher McDonald arrested for alleged DWI in N.C.

WILMINGTON, N.C., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Actor Christopher McDonald was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated in Wilmington, N.C., police said.

McDonald, 58, was arrested by North Carolina Highway Patrol deputies at around 4:30 a.m., TMZ reported.

He was being held on $1,000 bail after a breathalyzer test indicated his blood-alcohol level was 0.15, almost double the legal limit, the celebrity news website said.

The actor was in Wilmington shooting the movie "The Squeeze." He is known for his roles in the films "Happy Gilmore," "Dirty Work," "Grease 2," "Thelma & Louise," "Grumpy Old Men," "Quiz Show," "Flubber," "The Faculty," "The Perfect Storm" and "Terminal Velocity." He also played a recurring role in the TV series "Boardwalk Empire."
