LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Jean Kasem says in documents filed Tuesday in a Los Angeles court she takes care of her bedridden husband, Casey, and doesn't want his children bothering him.

"I care for him day in and day out and do my best to provide for his care and well-being," People.com quoted Jean as saying in the legal papers. "For the most part, he is now bedridden."

Jean said because of unspecified "disturbing" conduct by her stepchildren, visits with their father in the family home would be an "intolerable and an unpleasant experience for us all, including specifically [for] Casey."

Casey Kasem's three adult children last week filed for conservatorship of the 81-year-old ailing radio icon after their step-mother Jean refused to let them see him.

Kerri Kasem, 35, has said she has not been allowed inside her father's mansion in more than a decade and hasn't seen him at all since Jean, 59, quashed his children's weekly visits outside the home more than 90 days ago.

The former "American Top 40" host, who has advanced Parkinson's disease, also is the father of Julie, 38, and Mike, 40. The three children are from his previous marriage to Linda Myers. He and Jean have a 23-year-old daughter, Liberty.

"Jean's message to her step-kids is: Please respect the privacy of your father even though you don't respect mine," People.com quoted Jean's lawyer Marshall B. Grossman as saying after a hearing Monday. "Don't bring anymore unwanted publicity to the Kasem name. Jean determined that it wasn't healthy for Casey to have his kids in the house. I can't go into details why. But she had to draw the line."

Kerri Kasem told People.com after the hearing: "We don't think our dad had the [mental] capacity to sign what he did. We're not stopping to win the right to see our dad. We want visitation rights and will do whatever we can to win that."
