LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- British TV personality Piers Morgan will lose part or all of his 9 p.m. time slot on CNN once veteran newsman Bill Weir joins the network, Mediaite said.

Weir has been promised a show to air in the 9 p.m. EDT hour, which Morgan currently occupies. However, it is unclear whether Weir's show will replace Morgan's or if both shows will be 30 minutes and split the time slot, the report said.

The details are still being worked out and are expected to take several months to finalize, Mediaite said.

Weir was previously the anchor of ABC's "Nightline" program.
