David Boreanaz reportedly planning to leave 'Bones'

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- David Boreanaz is reportedly talking about leaving the Fox show "Bones" after nine seasons of playing Washington-based FBI agent Seeley Booth.

Radar Online cites a production source for the story.

"David is telling friends that it's his last season," the source said.

If Boreanaz leaves, it will come as he and Emily Deschanel's character, forensic anthropologist Temperance "Bones" Brennan, have become even more intertwined. They now have a young daughter and are to get married on the show airing Oct. 21.

Boreanaz has spent much of his two-decade acting career playing two characters. He was Angel, the vampire with a soul, on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spinoff, "Angel," from 1997 to 2004 and went almost immediately to "Bones."

This year, Boreanaz was also featured in "Full Circle," a 10-episode DIRECTV series.

Boreanaz showed signs of restlessness as the eighth season of "Bones" was getting under way, tweeting in June 2012: "You must always keep your options open and ready for new challenges. The fear is the unknown and that's exciting." But he eventually agreed to stay on through season nine.

Whether the show will continue if he leaves is still a question. Deschanel reportedly wants to continue with it.
