'Boardwalk Empire' renewed for fifth season

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- HBO says it has ordered a fifth season of its 1920s New Jersey-set mob drama "Boardwalk Empire," starring Steve Buscemi.

The show recently earned five Emmy Awards for Season 3, and Season 4 premiered this month.

"Thanks to Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese, Tim Van Patten, Howard Korder and their stellar team, 'Boardwalk Empire' remains in a class by itself," The Hollywood Reporter quoted HBO programming President Michael Lombardo as saying Thursday. "I look forward to another electrifying season of this impeccably crafted series."
