Katie Couric gets engaged to John Molner

NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- U.S. television personality Katie Couric got engaged during the weekend to John Molner, her boyfriend of nearly two years, People.com said.

Molner, 50, proposed to Couric, 56, at sunset on a beach in East Hampton, N.Y., the Tuesday report said.

Couric is the host of the chat show "Katie" and Molner is the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., "Good Morning America" noted.

Couric's first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998. Couric had two daughters with Monahan -- Ellie, 21, and Carrie, 17.
