LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- U.S. television icon Valerie Harper is to compete on "Dancing with the Stars," despite the fact she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, TMZ said.

Doctors gave Harper, 74, three months to live in March, but she is feeling strong now and began practicing for the dance competition series this week, the celebrity news website said.
