Fan favorite to return in Season 1 finale of online 'One Life to Live'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- An unnamed fan favorite is to return for the first season finale of the Web edition of the Pennsylvania-set soap opera "One Life to Live," producers announced.

The show aired for 43 years on ABC, but the network canceled it in early 2012.

Fresh episodes featuring many of the drama's most recent cast members, including Melissa Archer, Kassie DePaiva, Josh Kelly, Florencia Lozano, Kelley Missal, Erika Slezak, Hillary B. Smith, Robin Strasser, Andrew Trischitta, Jerry verDorn, Tuc Watkins and Robert S. Woods, began airing online in April.

The last episode of its first season on the Internet is to stream Monday.

"This season of 'One Life to Live' wraps as the entire town of Llanview attends the annual Man of the Year Gala," a synopsis said. "Viki and Dorian, co-chairs of the planning committee, hope that the event will go off without a hitch. However, with the conflicts between many of the characters brewing to the surface, that looks nearly impossible. Fireworks explode and it all comes to a head with the shocking return of a fan favorite in a big way. Everything comes to a head on the season finale of 'One Life to Live.'"
