Rob Lowe, Rashida Jones leaving 'Parks and Recreation'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones, who play Chris Traeger and Ann Perkins, are to leave the Indiana-set sitcom "Parks and Recreation," People.com confirmed.

The co-stars play on-off lovers on the show and will depart halfway through Season 6, the entertainment news website Buzzfeed reported.

No reason was given for the stars' departure.

Jones, 37, has been with the series since it began, while Lowe, 49, joined the show in its second season.

The Season 6 premiere of "Parks and Recreation" is set for Sept. 26.
