NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Dule Hill is to co-star with Fantasia in the Broadway musical "After Midnight," producers said Wednesday.

This will mark Hill's first appearance in a New York stage musical since "Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk" in the 1990s. Best known for his work on TV's "Psych" and "The West Wing," Hill also appeared in the 2012 Broadway play "Stick Fly."

"With his own unique song and dance style, Hill will serve as 'The Host' of the evening, leading the audience through the heat and glamor of the Harlem Renaissance using the words of Langston Hughes," said a news release announcing Hill's casting in "After Midnight."

The show is being directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, and will feature the big-band sounds of Wynton Marsalis' Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars.

The musical is to begin preview performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre Oct. 18. Opening night is set for Nov. 3.
