NEW YORK, July 18 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Mary-Louise Parker says she plans to wrap up her career because she can't stand all the negativity people express about entertainment online.

"It's sport for people, it's fun to get on at night and unleash their own self-loathing by attacking someone else who they think has a happier life -- or something, I dunno," Parker told News Corp. Australia.

"I wouldn't mind doing a TV show again. I'd like to do a couple more plays, but I'm almost done acting, I think," she said. "It's a mean culture -- it's reality TV and it's watching people suffer. It's little girls in pageants and housewives and plastic surgery and people in rehab."

So, what would she do if she quit acting?

"I would write. ... I would take care of my kids and my goats," said the mother of two young children. "That's about it. Bake. Throw my Internet in the lake."

Parker, 48, is best known for her work on the TV show "Weeds." She will soon be seen in the films "RED 2" and "R.I.P.D."
