'Girls,' 'Louie,' 'Modern Family' up for Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES, July 18 (UPI) -- "The Big Bang Theory," "Girls," "Louie," "Modern Family" and "30 Rock" were nominated for the Best Comedy Emmy Award in Los Angeles Thursday.

Up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy are Jason Bateman for "Arrested Development," Jim Parsons for "The Big Bang Theory," Matt LeBlanc for "Episodes," Don Cheadle for "House of Lies," Louis C.K. for "Louie" and Alec Baldwin for "30 Rock."

Shortlisted for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy are Laura Dern for "Enlightened," Lena Dunham for "Girls," Edie Falco for "Nurse Jackie," Amy Poehler for "Parks and Recreation," Tina Fey for "30 Rock" and Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep."

The nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy are Adam Driver for "Girls," Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O'Neill and Ty Burrell for "Modern Family," Bill Hader for "Saturday Night Live" and Tony Hale for "Veep."

Nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy are Mayim Bialik for "The Big Bang Theory," Jane Lynch for "Glee," Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen for "Modern Family," Merritt Wever for "Nurse Jackie," Jane Krakowski for "30 Rock" and Anna Chlumsky for "Veep."

Winners of the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced at a Sept. 22 ceremony to air on CBS.
