LONDON, July 8 (UPI) -- A 12-foot-tall fiberglass statue of Colin Firth as his "Pride and Prejudice" character Mr. Darcy has been installed in the boating lake of London's Hyde Park.

Three sculptors worked on the statue for two months, Zap2it.com reported Monday.

The artwork was inspired by a memorable scene in the 1995 miniseries in which Darcy emerges from a lake clothed and soaking wet, but still sexy.

The statue was created and installed to support the premiere of the new British TV channel, Drama.

Time Out London said the sculpture is to go on tour before it is permanently installed in Lyme Park in Cheshire.
