Demi Lovato's estranged father Patrick dies

LOS ANGELES, June 24 (UPI) -- U.S. singer and TV personality Demi Lovato used Twitter to thank her fans for their support following her estranged father's death.

"I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers," the 20-year-old "X Factor" judge tweeted Sunday night. "God bless you all, thank you so much love."

The entertainer's publicist confirmed to UsMagazine.com Patrick Lovato died of cancer, but no other details regarding where, when or how old he was when he died were reported.
