LOS ANGELES, May 24 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Jamie Anne Allman says the twin sons she gave birth to 81 days before her due date are finally home from the hospital.
Allman, a co-star of "The Killing" who married "True Blood" cast member Marshall Allman in 2006, gave birth to their first children -- Asher James and Oliver Charles -- Jan. 31. However, the couple didn't get to take their boys home until late April, UsMagazine.com said Friday.
A shortened cervix meant Allman was on bed rest for most of her pregnancy, which was plagued with violent bouts of nausea. She was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and ultimately delivered the babies via Caesarean section, the actress said.
The twins remained in the hospital's NICU while they gained weight and grew stronger.
"The first month, I only got to hold them for 2 hours total," Allman told UsMagazine.com. "They went through a lot. In the second month, thank God, I got to hold them a little bit more."
They were finally released from the hospital last month.
The actress said she now feels "totally great" and is the proud mom of "two normal, healthy babies."
