NEW YORK, April 11 (UPI) -- Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is to spend 90 days in the same Long Island, N.Y., rehab facility at which her father sought help in 1989, TMZ said.

The actress is to begin her court-ordered treatment for drug and alcohol abuse at the Seafield Center at Westhampton Beach May 2.

TMZ said Michael Lohan dealt with his own substance-abuse issues at the same rehab more than two decades ago and remained friends with Mark Epley, the facility's executive director.

Michael Lohan told the celebrity news website he thinks the facility will be able to help his 26-year-old daughter since Eply is familiar with the "family dynamic."

"I think, to be honest, I'm the happiest when I'm working and the healthiest, and I think this an opportunity for me to, you know, focus on what I love in life. And I don't think it's a bad thing. I think it's a blessing ... and not a curse," Lindsay Lohan said of rehab during an appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman" this week.

Lohan will soon be seen on the TV comedy series "Anger Management" and in the film "Scary Movie 5."

The former child star was ordered to undergo 90 days of in-patient treatment for her substance-abuse issues for probation violations related to her past drunken driving and necklace theft court cases.
