HOLLYWOOD, March 2 (UPI) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken on a new job as an editor for a pair of bodybuilding magazines, the publishers at American Media, Inc. announced.

"He is a universally recognized star, and an iconic leader of the fitness movement," AMI chief David Pecker said in a written statement. "His contributions will enormously benefit our print and digital readers, while driving value for our advertisers."

Schwarzenegger, 65, is among the best-known of the pioneers of the bodybuilding industry. His massive physique got him into the movies, which helped him later win two terms in the governor's office.

Schwarzenegger was actually an editor for AMI before he became governor in 2003 and was on the cover of the cover of "Muscle-and-Fitness" and "Flex" a combined 60 times over the years, The Hollywood Reporter said.

His new position will include strategic and creative input as well as monthly columns.
