Train, Pope set for NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Pop group Train and "The Voice" winner Cassadee Pope are to lead the lineup on "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" special in Los Angeles, NBC said.

The two-hour special is to air live Dec. 31, beginning at 10-11 p.m. ET, and continuing from 11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET. In addition to the live performances by Train and Pope, the program will offer viewers a look back at the most memorable musical moments of 2012.

The 2012 musical retrospective will include Justin Bieber in Mexico City, Coldplay at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony, Madonna's halftime show at the Super Bowl XLVI, Adele at London's Albert Hall, The Spice Girls at the Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony, PSY at the MTV European Music Awards, Beyonce at World Humanitarian Day and David Guetta at Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro.

Among other highlights from the show's segments will be: coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera from NBC's "The Voice" talking about their New Year's parties; Jay Leno and Nick Offerman discussing New Year's resolutions; Donald Trump offering real estate advice for buyers in the New Year; Amy Poehler and Adam Scott explaining "Auld Lang Syne" and NBC's "Parenthood" cast giving new celebrity mothers parenting advice.

Actress Angela Kinsey of "The Office" will join Daly with live reports from the heart of New York's Times Square where 1 million spectators are expected to gather.
