LOS ANGELES, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- FX says it has ordered a third edition of its creepy anthology series "American Horror Story" for the fall of 2013.

"Horror Story" veteran Jessica Lange will headline the cast for the next 13-episode season, E! News said. Who Lange will play and where or when the story will take place have not yet been revealed.

The show was created by writer-producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck. Season 1 took place in modern times in a haunted house in Los Angeles. Season 2 is set in the 1960s in a New England mental institution.

"With 'American Horror Story: Asylum,' Ryan and Brad have raised the bar in every way from Murder House, the first' American Horror Story' miniseries," FX President John Landgraf said in a statement Thursday.

"And their original idea -- the notion of doing an anthological series of miniseries with a repertory cast -- has proven groundbreaking, wildly successful and will prove to be trendsetting. We can't wait to see what deviously brilliant ideas they come up with for their third miniseries."
