TBS orders more 'Sullivan & Son'

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- TBS says it has ordered a second season of its Pittsburgh, Pa.-set sitcom "Sullivan & Son," starring Steve Byrne.

Currently airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the show is averaging more than 2.5 million viewers in its first season, the cable network said.

TBS said it has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to start in 2013.

"'Sullivan & Son' has gotten off to a strong start, quickly building its own fan base," Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies, said in a statement Tuesday. "We've had a great time working with Steve Byrne, Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley, Rob Long and the wonderful cast and crew of 'Sullivan & Son,' and we look forward to seeing the show continue to grow in 2013."

In the show, Byrne plays a corporate attorney who finds new purpose behind the bar when he leaves his Manhattan lifestyle and moves to Pittsburgh to take over his parents' pub. The ensemble cast includes Christine Ebersole, Brian Doyle-Murray, Jodi Long, Valerie Azlynn, Vivian Bang, Owen Benjamin and Dan Lauria.
