Letterman takes aim at weather with Top 10

NEW YORK, July 18 (UPI) -- David Letterman mined the recent heat wave for laughs by reading a weather-related Top 10 list on "Late Show" in New York.

Letterman's roster of "Ways to Describe the Current Weather" aired on Tuesday's edition of his late-night chat show, ahead of Wednesday's thunderstorms.

The Top 10 list went as follows --

10. Partly apocalyptic

9. Mostly sweaty

8. Fetid with a chance of putrid

7. Toupee glue-melting

6. Sauna-rific

5. Sunstroke-tastic

4. Soupy (but not chilled soups, like vichyssoise or gazpacho)

3. Global basting

2. Mamma mia, that's a spicy forecast!

1. So shvitzy I could plotz.
