'Homeland,' 'Community' win top TV awards

LOS ANGELES, June 19 (UPI) -- "Homeland" was named Best Drama and its star Claire Danes Best Actress in a Drama at the Critics Choice Television Awards Monday night in Beverly Hills, Calif.

"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston took home the prize for Best Actor in a Drama, while his co-star Giancarlo Esposito snagged the trophy for Best Supporting Actor at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Christina Hendricks earned the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama accolade for her work on "Mad Men."

"Community" was declared Best Comedy, while "Parks and Recreation" star Amy Poehler and "New Girl" leading lady Zooey Deschanel shared the Best Actress in a Comedy title.

Louis C.K. was declared Best Actor in a Comedy for "Louie."

Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen picked up matching Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy awards for their performances in "Modern Family."

"Sherlock" won the Best TV Movie or Miniseries honor and its star Benedict Cumberbatch scooped up the prize for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries.

Julianne Moore won the statuette for Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries for "Game Change."

"The Voice" won the award for Best Reality Series" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" won the Best Talk Show honor.
