'One Life' stars join 'GH' cast

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Four cast members from the recently canceled U.S. soap opera "One Life to Live" will join the ensemble of the daytime drama "General Hospital," ABC said.

Kassie DePaiva, Roger Howarth, Michael Easton and Kristen Alderson will reprise their "One Life to Live" characters on "General Hospital" as part of a new storyline, Frank Valentini, executive producer of "General Hospital," announced Wednesday.

"We have a very exciting story planned for the citizens of Port Charles, with Sonny Corinthos at the center of it. I am confident viewers and fans alike will be excited for the arrival of [characters] John, Starr, Blair and Todd," Valentini said in a statement. "Incorporating characters from 'One Life to Live' continue the legacy of the show as we weave them into 'General Hospital.'"

"One Life to Live" debuted in 1968. Its last episode is to air Friday.
