Time Warner Cable to offer HBO Go

NEW YORK, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Time Warner Cable says its U.S. subscribers will soon be able to watch HBO on computers and iPads through the HBO Go service.

The cable giant and HBO struck a deal that will make HBO Go available to roughly 12 million viewers who subscribe to HBO on their home cable service.

A joint statement issued by the two companies said viewers "will have free, unlimited access to the corresponding online services at any time, on any computer in the U.S. with a high-speed Internet connection, as well as a host of other devices, including the iPad."

HBO Go does not offer a live feed of HBO's programming; however, users can access archives of new and old programs at the same time they are airing on television, the Los Angeles Times said.

Details of the Time Warner deal were not announced; however, it leaves New York's Cablevision Systems as the only major cable system yet to offer HBO Go.
