Maura Tierney to appear on 'The Office'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Maura Tierney is to play a recurring role on the U.S. sitcom "The Office," starting next month, Zap2it.com said.

The former "Rescue Me," "ER" and "NewsRadio" star will debut on the workplace series Dec. 1.

She will play the wife of James Spader's character, Dunder Mifflin Chief Executive Officer Robert California.

Zap2it.com noted this will be Tierney's first role on a comedy series in more than a decade.
